Inez, the best way to be able to zoom into a photo that is posted on facebook is to do the following. First click on the image that appears in your feed. This will pull up the photo on it's own page. Sometimes this is not just a single photo but belongs to an album so there are left and right arrows on the sides. Don't worry. Now here is the tricky part. Instead of the standard left clicking on the image, do a right click and on the menu that appears, use the "View Image". What this does is either open a new tab or window with just the image URL with no other facebook coding/ rescaling / or the such in your way. When you are on the image... if it is still hard to read... then use the CTRL-+ [control key down and the plus key ]. Ctrl - minus zooms back out. hope that helped you.
