Desk Manager (Cosand Computer Center)

Maintained library patrons walk-in use of computer lab. Full implementation of information databases including user’s file, software catalog, and lab users login interface. Reservations could be made up to two months in advance and computer time was restricted to two hours per day. The lab's desk manager maintained currently logged in users, remaining time, and any checked out software materials being used at the workstations. Lab administrators could schedule class or other group reservations, as needed. Statistical usage information was reported.

Microlink BBS (Public Library online bulletin board system)

Full development of user login database, public and private messaging, questions to reference librarians, information bulletins, online games, usage log and statistics features. First online in 1983 using a $5000 Corvus 10mb hard drive and a Hayes 300bps Micromodem. No commercial BBS software packages existed for this type of application. Microlink BBS was the second public library in the country to offer such dial up services next to The Chicago Public Library. Microlink was later renamed to LOLA (Library On-Line Apple).

I want to stand out in the crowd. I have something to say that is quite profound. And if that crowd wants to say this is abusive, that is not a very nice thing to say of me. Or if that crowd wants to conclude me to some kind of disturbed manic.... that is their fault and not mine. The words and ideals I attempt to relate for your understanding are profound. But they are valid. I use the outside world to relate this validity because no one will reflect upon me face to face that I am real. This is your all shit against me.... not the other way around. Once again, this is not a reflection directly upon you TES. Think about all that I have actually been though. My mission work has had continuity all of the way back to when my work was set into place at the Library.

Early in 1997, many sysops of traditional BBSes banded together to form an organization to accomplish this goal of taking the BBS into the next century. This group is known as COCA or Council for Online Community Alternatives. Membership is free to all BBS SysOps who promote BBS awareness and carry the COCA discussion group on their systems. The alienation you speak of, I can only address one way that I can see it. Because frankly no one gives me feedback, such as yours. I appreciate that. But, there is something different happening. You cannot negate the fact that these words were written.

And if "Correct thy friend;" when friends don't like to be corrected alienates those friends. Well then they are not really friends after all. That is an extreme opinion that I just don't find this conclusion truly of you.. But since I own @realuphuman.net and I am attempting to service truth to all human kind. If those who are disturbed by 100% truth and 100% honesty, they must have something to hide. Another conclusion statement that I just don't believe is you.

i'm sorry james. i am glad that you are not upset. i have neither the time or desire to invest so deeply into your personal agenda... it is not that compelling to me. i honor your right to make your life be about whatever feels important and true to you... however it is not mine, does not call to me or draw me in. as a reflection, for the sake of contemplation, i offer you the opinion that you present in a manic, overbearing way that seems disturbed. it makes others uncomfortable. i had one sister write me privately to address her concerns about your mental stability and my safety. i assured her that i had no worries that you would ever do me harm... but still, if you want to understand why you don't get the results you would prefer, i invite you to seriously look at this. if your good purpose is to alienate people, then i suppose you may consider yourself successful... but i do not believe that is what you really want.
we all have terrible-feeling things that have happened to us... i believe that life wants us to make peace with all of it. perhaps we were not promised consistently joyous experiences... only experiences... and we are charged to find the joy in all of it.

In my moments of trying to find a footing at the UTHC, and you can attest this is more or less correct.... You dismissed my music at that time.... And then want to work with me after I can't stay there. I am sorry to say this is also my feelings on the subject of dismissing feelings I have. And if you just read the PDF article Personal Information Systems, The Library Role, you would get a better feeling of where I am coming from.

Instead of dismissing my words, perhaps you too could embrace them.

There is nothing here hostile. There is a walk goal and plan, there is Words To Live by, written before year 1800, there are words written that contains my promise to walk, there is a speech from the 1960s, and then there is more later in direct email.
