Intense -- what is strange about me and my politics is that I believe in the death penalty as a foundation of a deterrent against murder. I feel if we removed the death penalty as a whole, it would lead to more justification for violent acts in our society. Because there is a such a disparency in the justice system --- mainly against racial definitions of black men and against poor people in general, it is hard to defend such a practice as I know there have been innocent persons executed. The problem being the bias in the prosecution of the case, the moral responsibility should fall upon the detectives and lawyers in the case. But that is not what we have. So, I am left with knowing if we ban the death penalty there will be more violence. If we don't ban the death penalty there will be injustice carried forth in the name of the state. The better understanding on how to help here in this equation is to work on the problem of the erosion #SocialTrust. If only society would build better relationships of trust and that is the matter to which I direct my effort of mission work.
